During the panel, Peter emphasized that the next generation of angel investors looks less like financiers and more like operators who have built, scaled, and run companies themselves. He spoke about the growing shift toward “operator angels” who provide strategic guidance, accountability, and execution support — not just a check. This model, he argued, is especially critical for Armenia’s startup ecosystem, where technical talent is world-class but founders often lack exposure to global go-to-market strategies, product discipline, and scalable data infrastructure.
The conversation also touched on how angel groups such as BAJ Accelerator and ABAN are helping founders bridge that gap through structured mentorship, follow-on pathways, and access to diaspora networks. Peter highlighted that Armenia’s strongest startups are the ones pairing their engineering strengths with advisors who understand distribution, customer acquisition, and cross-border scale.
He also addressed the importance of building companies with clean data foundations from day one — something he sees consistently missing in early-stage teams. As he explained on stage, “Capital accelerates a good system. It doesn’t fix a bad one.” His message resonated across the panel: Armenia doesn’t just need more money in the ecosystem; it needs investors who roll up their sleeves.
This Digitec 2025 session underscored how Armenia’s startup environment is evolving, how angel networks are becoming more sophisticated, and why operator-led investing is emerging as one of the most effective forces behind the country’s fastest-growing tech companies.
